This is the official stuff. Sure it’s boring, but read it!!
1. Fury of the Yukon race courses travel through remote, mountain terrain. Weather conditions could vary during the day and with elevation – freezing conditions are possible at some elevations at any time of the year. All riders must be self-supported during all race stages, ensuring that they carry adequate water, food, clothing and bicycle repair equipment – see suggested equipment list below.
2. Helmets are mandatory for all riders at all times. Riders riding on race courses without helmets will be disqualified. (Note: Riding a bicycle without a helmet is illegal within the City of Whitehorse.)
3. The Fury of the Yukon is, above all, a fun event. Some riders will race while some will ride recreationally. Riders must be courteous to other riders as well as race officials and volunteers. Share the trail and lend a helping hand when needed. Any abuse of volunteers will be grounds for disqualification.
4. All race courses are open courses on multi-use trails. Parts of some courses are open to motorized off-road vehicles. Other trail users could be encountered at any time. Racers must be courteous to other trail users.
5. Parts of race courses will be conducted on public roads. Riders must obey rules of the road and are responsible for their own safety at all times including when entering roadways, leaving roadways and making turns.
6. Fury of the Yukon race courses cross land owned by various individuals and groups. The race will operate with a leave-no-trace ethic.
